The Memphis Tigers simply did what they do, which is play the very best defense in the nation en route to their fourth consecutive Conference USA title,. The Tigers defeated the second-seeded Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 64-39 to run their national best winning streak to 25 games, as well as their C-USA winning streak to 61 consecutive games.    Full Story

Now that the Conference USA regular season is officially over, it’s time for us to announce our all-C-USA teams. To no one’s surprise, the Most Outstanding Player Award goes to UCF’s dynamic shooting guard, Jermaine Taylor, who led the conference in scoring with a 26.6 ppg. average, setting a new C-USA record.   Full Story

Wednesday was another busy night of hoops in C-USA, as 10 of the 12 teams were in action. Memphis and Marshall continue to streak, as does UCF in the other direction, and SMU got a rare win on Senior night.    Full Story

Senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) totaled a game-high 29 points and established a Conference USA record as the UCF men’s basketball team fell 79-70 to Tulsa Wednesday at the Reynolds Center. The All-America candidate has now scored 430 points in league play this campaign, good for a C-USA single-season record.   Full Story

It was a busy weekend in the world of C-USA hoops, and unlike the weekday games, there were no real surprises. Memphis continues to roll, UAB bounces back from their mid-week date with Memphis, UCF continues to slump, and Tulsa, Houston, and Tulane take care of business.   Full Story

The Memphis Tigers continue to flex their muscles, as they stay perfect in conference and are the hottest team in the nation with 19 consecutive wins. Rice and Marshall both recorded their first conference road victories of the season, as Rice overcame a record-setting performance by the great Jermaine Taylor. Houston and SMU were game opponents, but couldn’t seal the deal on the road.    Full Story

Another week has gone by in the C-USA and what else is new, Memphis is undefeated. John Calipari’s Tigers are playing stifling defense and some close early season contests have turned into blowouts. Memphis has now won 52 straight C-USA games, and there’s no end to their dominance in sight.   Full Story

IRVING, Texas – Coming off an appearance in the 2008 NCAA National Championship title game and an NCAA-record 38 wins, the Memphis Tigers repeat as the unanimous pre-season favorite to win the C-USA men’s basketball regular-season crown in 2008-09, according to the league’s coaches. As Conference USA teams come down the stretch, one would not think a team beaten by 25 points in the final eight days of the regular season would have much to be excited about. But Marshall, beaten by Tulsa 89-64 on Saturday night in Oklahoma, finds itself still in the hunt for a high seed in the C-USA Tournament with two games to play next week, thanks to a number of upsets this evening.   Full Story

In the first half, the Green Wave never trailed although the Hurricanes tied the score at 2-2, and 6-6. The Wave led by as many as 11 but took an 8-point lead, 31-23, into the halftime locker room.
