You knew it was going well for Tulsa when Paul Smith was punting the ball inside the 20 yard line and Chris Chamberlain scored a touchdown on a quarterback draw. It made the hurry up no huddle offense seem somewhat conventional. The Hurricane finished the game in a light rain and a 35-17 victory over Louisiana-Monroe. While the offense gets the most attention, the defense came up big delivering a second half shutout after Tulsa was down by 3 at halftime.
